Yellow Miniature Roses, 4"x6" Oil on Linen I hope you have had a great summer. I've started teaching again and have been working hard at sneaking in painting time. This painting of yellow roses is my first alla prima oil painting. Having only a few minutes here and there allowed for painting, my still life props tend to go bad before I get a chance to finish a painting. I thought this was the perfect time to practice a painting in only a few minutes. This one I gave myself fifteen minutes to paint. Later I will post some that took me about thirty minutes. I had so much fun, that I know I will try it again.

This one and the one below are a different story. I have been working on them for about a week, off and on. They are finally done and I feel pretty pleased with them. The pears are from back yard, from a pear tree my dad planted years ago. This year we got a few more pears that in the past.
